Statement vs Career
Sourav Ganguly's statement that he was asked to step down as a captain seems to have cost him not only his captaincy but also his place both in the One day's and tests. India is about to lose a legendary one day player. In the all time list of the greatest one day batsmen he is sure to make a place in the top ten. Sachin tendulkar and Ganguly were the most dreaded opening pair in the world at that time. Ganguly is the most successful captain of India. To compare such a legendary career that has shattered so many records and still looks promising for another 2-3 years with just a single statement against a Non-Indian is unjust. Dravid and Ganguly are considered very good friends as they both made their debut in the 95 England tour. A decade down the line their friendship strengthened and gelled well for the team but the entry of the Chappel must have done something to their wavelenght and frequency of thinking that such a turmoil has taken place. Hope everything settles down in the interest of the game and we dont lose our Dada.

nope vithan I seem to not agree with tht idea of urs...I feel there is no need to bear with the tantrums tht ganguly has been showing esp with his batting down in dumps almost since eternity....I feel now there is more genuine-ness and transparency in Team India with his absence....
So u mean that Ganguly is a waste now and is the spoilsport of the team India. He is the reason that India is not winning. I thought that the current team was the result of Ganguly's hardship. He was the person responsible for the recognition of Sehwag, yuvraj, Kaif, Dhoni(today 183 not out), Bhajji,Pathan. And still he himself is not found in the team. It also shows that Ganguly is not the person responsible for the non inclusion of VVS. Rather than just dismissing him they should have made him play domestic cricket and county cricket so as to get his touch back. People have never complained about Sachin Tendulkar when he could not perform twice as a captain, he was not successful as a captain nor as a batsman at that time.
its the filthy character in and out of the dressing room apart from the pathetic form of ganguly that makes him so obnoxious....by the way it is just my feeling thts it vithan:-))....but u can always argue for him....thts it:-))
